howdy doody in the woodshed, I picked up another of your cds, 'music to bowl to', and i gotta say, i still love you guys. thus raises a question in my mind. as long as i have known of you fellas, i have never seen you in concert, mainly becuase at my young age a while back, i havent been able to drive very far, and now that i am older, i find you dont come anywhere close to me. so if you find it in your hearts, Rochester, NY is the place to be. until then, im going to continue buying your cds and skanking to it on the streets with my boom box. keep it up ben-

Regarding Jay-thon: From the looks of it, I'd say the band (or Chris Ridge) ate him.
Hugh Jarse
Fresno, CA USA - Sunday, September 26, 2004 at 16:05:50 (EDT)
Band members, fans, and family: Back in June someone asked an important question on this site that still has not been answered: what the hell happened to Jason ("Jay-thon") E., former LGB drummer. He played on "Music to Bowl By" and, with Mark at the bottom, Darrin on keys, and David Molina on guitar, laid down the fattest (or is it "phattist" these days) grooves ska has ever known. . . prior to your latter recordings, if you know what I mean. But these are the details. There is a crucial question on the table: Donde esta Jay-thon?

I would have to agree, chris's performance in "Blue Ridge Mountain" was compeling. However, does not compare with the award winning portrail of a guy boat captain in the "Misterssippi", but have you seen his latest release "Crammin' Adam"? I'm into it.

I agree. Chris Ridge is way hot on the guitar and in the midget porn he starred in such as "Blue Ridge Mountain" and "Midget Jone's Diary". He looks gigantic amongst (and against) the wee people And no, Adam is not gay. He's just partying.

Hey guys! Sorry, I know its been ages since I've spoken to you. I was doing some cleaning and came across a treasure in the form of a video cassette. It's of a gig at the Wild Blue back in 1990. The quality isn't that great and the picture is rather dark, but it has Dave Molina on guitar. It takes you back. E-mail so I can get it back to you guys. Love ya lots & and hope all is well, Gina xo

What ever happened to ska? Man I miss the 3rd wave, but alas it has come and gone! Never got a chance to catch you guys but I owned all your cds even the newest one "Stayed Tuned". I remember a couple years ago poppin' that one in my cd player after listening to the Toasters and saying,"What the CHRIST is this crap?". What happened to you guys? Did you all decide to follow the Gadjits in their path of retardedness? You guys were influenced by some of the greatest first wave ska performers EVER. Do we have to send Roland Alfonzo to your door step to kick you in the ass and you all back in gear? Stop this garbage already, get with the program, and let's get the fourth wave ready. Don't fudge up your next album..... PLEASE.

Hey... You guys were like my favourite band waaayy back in the day... around 98-99... I was in High School then and stuff... Miss you guys... I didn't dig, Stay Tuned that much... but, I was going through some really old cassette tapes (remember those?), and I had a recorded performance from you guys where you were playing songs by the name of "Crap?" and "The Well"... Other new songs were on it, like Bone Dry (Which is one of my faves, and the only one I dig off of Stay Tuned), anyways, I was wondering if those songs will ever see the light of day? Hope so, glad to see you guys playing a lot more shows... Come back down to So. Cal sometime... Ditch the "Stay Tuned" stuff though... No offense, just there is a ton of people who dig your original sound... Miss you guys C

I did a Google search, just for kicks, and found you're still together and playing hard. I remember when LGB was just a little known, home-grown Fresno band. Now look at you! Rock on for years to come and good luck to you all.

Hey Everyone!! Just wanted to say a super big 'THANKS' to all of the fans that helped to pack the club both nights this last weekend. The anniversary shows were outstanding both nights!!

Big "THANKS' to the bands: CMC, LH, Soul Captives, Monkey & Dr. Rocket for playing and helping in making the 18th Anniversary shows so much fun.

Big ups to the 'Lawless' crew for making it up to the show!! And to the bay area Fan-antics who made it down. ("Hi Peggy!!")

Sorry to the folks about the Aggro's not making it for the show Friday. Appearently "Shit" does happen!! =)

Hope to see lots of you Socal fans this Friday at the El Rey!! We need to keep the 18 celebration vibe going this weekend!!

Much love and respect to all!! Mark Michel - LGB

Just gotta say I had a blast both nights. Got to watch on Friday and then share the stage with some great bands the next night. What a great weekend! I can't speak for the rest of Los Hooligans, (I'll let Tony do that) but as for me, thanks again for asking us to join you in another birthday bash. No matter what they say, Ska is alive and well because you guys continue to play your asses off! Congrats again on becoming legal, LGB.

oh my god! wheres the suits?? I remember partiying with ya all down in oceanside (or pacifica?) back in the late eghties, the bairs layer, the twilight zone and of course slims... shit things have really changed, what happened to the folks in dance hall crashers? I guess things things took a worst for ska in the bay area when they did that open air fest in berkely in (90-91?) thats when I knew it was all over! then those silly bands came out doing that hybrid(I dont even know what to call it) anyway there were all those college frat kids who were trying to mosh or something and I suppose all the mods/skins and other ska herberts decided to cut the ska thing alltogether..personally I think it was some skins who killed the scene because they thought they were to good for ska and had to graduate to some kind of seventies smoothie bullshit, evendently they must of told everyone else to stop listening too..one day everyones skankin it up and the next day theyre sittin around listening to abba and t-rex! what a bummer..

Dear Let's Go Bowling, I am looking to join a ska band, and I hear you are the best. I am a banjo player, and many people consider me to be an exceptional musician (mostly relatives). I would like a tryout with you. Here is my problem: I am highly flammable. If the room temperature rises higher than 88 degrees, there is a 88 percent chance that I will burst into flame. I do not go outdoors in the summer. Or late spring. Perhaps there is a solution when playing in hot clubs, like ice packs or large women with fans. If you think that your ska band is ready for a highly flammable banjo player, please contact me. I also play the oboe. Signed Jim Plank.

Wow, its been a while since I've updated and here we are in 2004 already. I figured it was about time I said "happy new year" to every friend, band member, and fan we've ever had. Looking back over the past two years of messages just now got me to thinking. This really is one giant extended family. How cool is that? Your support has been nothing short of awesome. Here we are almost 18 years later and I still get a kick out of the fact you all get off your collective asses and dance with us. The party will continue. We played a show last Saturday at Club Fred that had such an amazing vibe. I have a feeling 2004 has even better times in store. As Mark says, ever forward! And as I say, Viva la LGB!!!!!!

To Mat: Um, there's a punk scene in Fresno?? I just moved here a year ago and all I've seen are the 13-year old skanks that hang out at Riverpark. Minus some pompous ass people I've seen in Tower District, it seems kinda cool there...

Gentlemen: This is your old pal just writing to wish you the best and encourage to keep playing that great music. I'm still out here here doing, too. Currently playing in two groups here in Jackson and loving it. There is a surprisingly deep pool of talent and very good public and private gigs. So, why don't you come back out? Lots of people would love to see you at the Moose again. Have fun and take care!

Hi Darin. It's Michael Naj, You're fellow singer/musician/friend. I keep missing you at the little side gigs w/ Ramp. I'm playing chuys in Fresno all weekend but I see your booked also! Someday soon! lol I have a mutual friend from Fresno that has been with me at times to surprise ya. Charles Smith. I nicknamed him Charlie Animal. He's now the guitarist for Tequila Rose. He told me how he knew you and Julian and his brohters and the founding members of LGB long ago. I'm seriously thinking of going back to my reggae/ska roots and doing an album. Well have a good weekend in Redondo! I hope our paths cross soon bro! Michael(vocalist) Ramp Tequila Rose Naj

Wow!! Let's Go Bowling rocked the stage at Ska Summit this weekend. I was so much more impressed with all of the older two-tone/2nd wave Ska bands for their ability to perform on stage as well as they sound on the albums. Way to go guys! I enjoyed the whole show though, so props to all the bands (especially Buck-o-Nine and Mustard Plug). My friend and I stayed at State Line (Whiskey Pete's) for the weekend and saw a few of the band members of LGB at Carl's Jr. on our way out of town. Sorry we didn't give you guys the formal greeting you deserved. :) Actually, I'm sorry we didn't say "hi" at all. :\ Way to go and keep it up! You guys rock!

I almost hurled..... Can't wait for the Ska Summit this weekend. We are going to have such a great time. Hey dudes, I just moved back to Fresno from Tijuana,Mex.,B.C. There is a big ska scene in Tijuana. Lots of cool alternative Spanish language bands. Its The Rock En Espanol movement. You guys should seriously think about doing some shows in Tijuana. I guarantee you would sell out and you would expose young Mexicans to some great music. I'm talking about the good clubs away from Revolution Avenue. Those in the Zona Rio are modern extremely large nightclubs. There are no tourists, mostly young college age Mexicans. You would be well recieved. Try contacting the Centro Cultural de Tijuana at www.cecut.org.mex With songs like Cumbia del Sol and the Skatalites' Latin Goes Ska, you would gain a new group of fans. I've always been a fan. Dave Molina was the shit!!!! RIP. I'll see you Friday, Feb. 14th at Fred's.

Anyhow, I managed to stumble upon this cd in the $1 rack at Half Price Books. I wasn't expecting much i basically thought this was just goona be a joke cd. He... I was wrong about that. That's for sure. This music isn't bad. I've never heard of Ska before or any of this stuff. Now this CD is the CD i listen to while im working or basically just practicing my unicycle skills. Yeah. Maybe I'll Buy another CD or something. I Enjoy the music you guys. All like 8(?) of you. Jeeeez that's alot. Anyhow, looked you up on the internet to see if anybody had even heard of you. Actually the first thing i did was put you into my winamp player to see if the song tracks downloaded off the internet... sure enough... they did. Hell i was suprised at that too. Anyway "Ska" On!

To Londra and Jamie below. I think it's more of a Los Angeles plastic surgery thing then a general Califonria issue. I find that we have a lasik new york issue here. We have quite a few laser eye surgery new york converts. It's like people are afraid to wear glasses anymore. Oh well I love my fellow New Yorkers with or without glasses. To Londra below (it is a down to earth site), I couldn’t agree more. I work in Los Angeles and there is a plastic surgeon in our building. In my office alone I know people who have had liposuction a tummy tuck and a face lift . I also know a lasik surgeon who tries to convince everyone he meets to throw out their glasses and get lasik and laser vision correction . People are so vain. Anyhow, let’s respect this guest book and commiserate about living in LA offline. Email me at jamieyellowfeather@hotmail.com.

Thank you for producing such a down to earth site. I recently moved to Los Angeles California and can’t believe how many superficial people I have met. I think they should rename the state plastic surgery California or cosmetic surgery California . Excuse me for saying this but I have never seen so many breast implants . There are all kinds of breast enhancement surgery: breast enlargement breast augmentation even breast reduction it’s crazy.

I haven't e-mailed you guys in a long time. I've been away doing stuff. Last time I read on here you were working on a new CD. What happened. Still having record label problems? I have Two suggestions for you. Hellcat records and Raucous, both like new Ska and tarditional rock steady. Hellcat, belongs to Tim Armstrong, no need to explain who he is, And Raucous is a british label, the guy to talk to there is Howard. They carry alot of good american band to europe. The Rev Horton Heat distribute with them, so do the Flametricksubs. If those don't work try Idol records They're a punk lanel but they like good music. If that doesn't help then fuck the record industry, because you guys are the best Ska band bar-non. Rock Staedy, Christ69

Ah yes, I remember Mr Cain real well. Aren't you the one who kept me up all night last new year's eve? Didn't you inspire Choppy to destroy the toilets in St Louis? Are you not the same person who killed Belushi? For shame, Mr Cain. For shame.....uh...do you..youknow....ya got any???
